About Descente
Skiwear began in 1954, when Kazuyoshi Nishimura, Japan's first professional skier, was brought in to advise. The 1957 RWSB jacket was its first fully in-house product. The Mizusawa factory in Iwate opened in 1970 and has made baseball and ski wear. Itochu invested in 1971 and took Descente private in 2025.
